Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using CamDeck, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app — that's the whole deal, no account or click-through agreement required beyond this page.
License
CamDeck is provided free of charge, supported by optional tips. You're granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on Macs you own or control. You may not resell it, redistribute it as your own, reverse-engineer it for the purpose of building a competing product, or remove or alter its branding.
No warranty
CamDeck is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including, without limitation, any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Use of the app, its camera extension, and its effects is entirely at your own risk.
We don't guarantee CamDeck will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or compatible with every macOS version, camera, or third-party app (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.) — including future updates to those apps or to macOS itself that may change how they behave.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer of CamDeck shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app — including but not limited to lost data, lost broadcasts or recordings, missed shows, hardware issues, or any other damages, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
In plain terms: if an effect crashes mid-stream, a video overlay corrupts, weather mode goes down, or anything else about the app causes you a bad time on a live show, that's a risk you're accepting by using free software — not something you can hold the developer financially responsible for.
Your responsibility
You're responsible for complying with the terms of service of any third-party app you use CamDeck alongside (Zoom, Google Meet, Spotify, Apple Music, etc.). Weather and RSS content shown in the lower-third bar comes from third-party sources we don't control and can't guarantee the accuracy of. You're also responsible for keeping backups of anything important — your image and video library lives locally on your Mac and isn't backed up by us.
Tips
CamDeck is free to use in full — nothing is paywalled or gated behind a tip. Tips made via Buy Me a Coffee are voluntary, non-refundable, and don't create any support contract, service-level agreement, or ownership stake in the software.
Third-party trademarks
Zoom, Google Meet, Apple, macOS, Spotify, and Apple Music are trademarks of their respective owners. CamDeck is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them.
Termination & changes
We can discontinue, modify, or stop supporting CamDeck at any time, for any reason, without notice — it's an independent project maintained on a best-effort basis, not a commercial product with a guaranteed roadmap. These terms may also be updated from time to time; continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised terms.
